This week is a model I have seen plenty in videos by Minisodes, Miniscape and the sort; where older editions of Warhammer are painted, discussed and played to my great joy.
I was absolutely not in to Warhammer at the time where models like this one were coming out (god knows if I had been, I’d have a small fortune’s worth of models in my loft!) but I really love the campy-sci-fi nature of the older editions with the big bold models and bight colours.
This model, the pilot that featured in what I believe was the Battle for McRagge box set, is one that I have seen painted on youtube loads, and although he’s basically useless for 10th edition, I still wanted to paint one up for my collection.
The colour scheme that I chose for this model was odd – I was painting this in between a load of other models, and essentially just used the paints that I had at hand – hence the dashing purple jacket and the brassy gold armour. Not traditional for this model, but striking all the same!
