These are the first Space Marine units that I painted, and one of the first set of models that I painted using contrast paints. Having painted them all the way back in summer of 2024 I can’t remember exactly the scheme that I used, but I do know that the green is Dark Angels Green and I used a brush to apply it over a zenithaal highlight applied with an airbrush.
Looking back, the green is far too dark, but as you’ll see in later posts I am not a massive stickler for exact consistency between the different units of my army! They do a job, and I think for battleline they’re pretty details. I have certainly gotten better at getting battleline units “done” and not spending 10 hours per model like I have done with previous models!
This is the first of a whole load of posts that I am scheduling in January to come out one a week on a Saturday. They take a look at the vast majority of models that I have painted during my time collecting Warhammer since 2023, and should take us through to about May.
I will hopefully be supplementing these posts with things that I am currently working on as and when I do them or make progress – but there will be at least one post per week that is scheduled, and I will be checking in to reply to any comments as well!
